Democrats: Don't Impeach Bush

Have you ever been subscribed to an email list without asking to be subscribed? I have, and have always been offended by it. Let me know about your mailing list, and if I want to subscribe, I will.

One of the fine folks who subscribed me to their list is "Democrats.com" Because I believe the adage, "Keep your enemies close.", I didn't reject the mailings. Similarly, I was subscribed to a list by "Columbia Christians for Life" and would still be subscribed, to keep an eye open, until they sent out a statement saying that Katrina was God's retribution on New Orleans. Couldn't stomach that so I unsubscribed. Unfortunately, now I don't know what those idiots are up to now.

The most recent mailing from "Democrats.com" is hidden behind the "Read more!" link, and explains beyond a doubt why I, and hopefully you, have been left behind by the Democrats, including so-called "progressives" like Nancy Pelosi, Howard Dean and even Green-friendly Cynthia McKinney. All, and many more, reject all calls for Bush to be impeached. Every bullet or bomb that kills a soldier or civilian in Iraq now splatters blood on these Democrat's faces. This evil is exactly why I know that the Democrats are rotten beyond redemption, and that the Green Party is the only place for people like you and me to call home. Hit the "Read more!" link to see exactly the sort of evil I speak of...direct from "Democrats.com"...

Thanks to your grassroots lobbying efforts - and the leadership of Rep. John Conyers - there are now 29 co-sponsors for Conyers' Select Committee on Impeachment, H. Res. 635.
After Downing Street-635

That's a good start - but ALL 202 Democrats should be co-sponsors. After all, Bush deserves impeachment far more than any president in American history, and a solid majority of Americans want Congress to impeach him NOW.

What's holding back the Democrats? According to reporter Dave Lindorff, "members of Congress - even firebrands like Maxine Waters (D-CA) and Cynthia McKinney (D-GA) - have been strong-armed behind the scenes by the Democratic National Committee not to introduce an impeachment bill in the House." The DNC chairman is Howard Dean.
Ask him why he is blocking impeachment here:

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi also opposes impeachment, urging Democratic activists to focus instead on winning the House in November. We reject that because every single DAY that Bush remains in office is another day in which American soldiers are killed or maimed in Iraq, Iraqi civilians are killed or maimed or poisoned, prisoners in America's Gulag are tortured, America's ports are left vulnerable, our phones and computers are wiretapped, and our planet races towards climate catastrophe. Also, since a solid majority (52%-53%) of Americans support Bush's impeachment, it's both good policy and good politics. Ask Nancy Pelosi and the House Democratic leadership why they are blocking impeachment here:

Another terrific way to promote impeachment is by getting cities, counties, towns, villages, and Democratic committees to adopt impeachment resolutions. Last week, citizens of five Vermont towns overwhelmingly passed resolutions urging their Congressman, Bernie Sanders, to introduce Articles of Impeachment. His first reply was to call impeachment "impractical," but he then responded to his constituents by co-sponsoring H. Res. 635. The growing list of local resolutions favoring the impeachment of Bush and Cheney is here:

Activists who are particularly savvy have embraced the "Rutland Resolution" to urge their state legislatures to submit impeachable charges directly to the U.S. House of Representatives under Section 603 of the Manual of the Rules of the U.S. House of Representatives. This strategy is best suited to states that have strong Democratic majorities in both houses of the legislature: CA, MA, HI, RI, and VT. Learn more here:

If you would like to help organize impeachment efforts in your state, county or town, join the Impeachment Working Group of Progressive Democrats of America

And be sure to urge your Representative to co-sponsor H.Res. 635

Let's make impeachment our highest priority this spring - victory is possible!!

Now, imagine the Green Party going through these sort of gyrations just to keep the "system" going It wouldn't happen. We Greens have plenty of problems, some of them very serious and potentially deadly, but if the Green Party in the United States does kill itself off, it will be and remain dead, while the Democrats have been turned into the Corporate Living Dead, zombies who spout the corporate line regardless of what living people with eyes and ears, and even those without!, can see that this "system" is broken, and is in need of deep maintenance, the sort of "tear-down and re-build" that mechanics and technicians deal with every day.

Maybe we Greens need a "Monkey Wrench Crew" to try to bring these broken systems, and possible solutions, to the voters. Nothing illegal, but very in-your-face, as in the frustrated citizen who shouted "Go fuck yourself Mr. Cheney" when the Veep visited the Gulf Coast.

We've been far too nice to these sell-outs in "Democratic" or "Republican" clothing.

I must say, I agree with most of what you say. What keeps me claiming to be a Democrat is what drives many Americans to do the same...I want to play for a winner. However, I don't stand behind everything on their platform, not by a long shot. Conversely, who is always in trouble for misusing campaign funds? Who is known for starting wars? Who is known for changing their reasoning behind the wars when the original reasoning is proven false? And who has followers that are not able to think for themselves, so they believe anything they hear? Useless, brainless, pig-headed republicans. I pick the lesser of 2 evils. Anyway, check out my blog sometime at http://captainron3476.blogspot.com and as I keep saying...Cheney in 2007!!! Uggh that makes me sick.
