This is a sadder world
Kurt Vonnegut is dead.
As Jon Stewart said, Kurt Vonnegut kept us sane when we were 14. I adore Vonnegut's writing, and must re-read it now. My daughter Kathleen has read everything Vonnegut published. For years I have said that we must go see Mr. Vonnegut somewhere and soon, while he is still with us. I didn't do that. I wish I had.

You know, I felt the exact same way. I had this notion that he would be around forever. Then bam, he's gone. Since I had read Cat's Cradle in high school, I've been meaning to read some of his greatest novels like Slaughterhouse-five and all the rest.
I still can of course, but I feel like I've missed an great opportunity to live in the world of Kurt Vonnegut while he was still alive. That's now gone.
I'm planning to read some Noam Chomsky and Gore Vidal while I still can.
