300 and counting
Well, it's been a few days since my last post...again. Well, it would seem that my goal of regularly letting my readers know what's going in the Green Party isn't going to happen smoothly, if at all. I wish I had either the time or money to do a better job. Frankly I believe that if one person were to focus their effort entirely on the Green Party, that person could build a career of that, somewhat like Richard Winger has done with ballot access and his Ballot Access News, would sustain the person who makes it their task. Unfortunately I don't have the ability to do this. If someone knows George Soros or another rich person, let them know that I want to do that, and will do a hell of a job for cheap...but I can't do it for free.
Of course, if anyone deserves to be paid for promoting news about the Green Party, it's the party's spokespeople. Today those people are Starlene Rankin and Scott McClarty. Starlene took over for Nancy Allen, and I am sure there are others who have served in the same role over the years.
The point is that we Greens are doing with almost no money what Democrats and especially Republicans get paid big bucks to do. Influencing elections pays well, excepting of course when you talk about third party candidates. While this may be desirable, or may be undesirable, the fact remains that it is fact. While there may be a few dozen people across the US getting paid to work for the Green Party, there are likely fewer people doing that than even one member of Congress may employ to read email.
But we cannot give up, for if we did, the fundamental changes which may save the planet from destruction will not happen. Just as child labor would not have come to an end without agitation by socialist parties, the worldwide movement for peace, justice, environmental sanity and grassroots democracy will wither and die without the sweat and tears of Green Party activists. There is no other political party doing what we are doing to promote these goals, and without us doing it, I fear we would actually be doomed.
Anyway, I'm doing what I can. Thanks for stopping by. Leave a note if you care to, and continue to stop for a visit. If you want to do so you can subscribe to my blog's RSS feed. RSS stands for Really Simple Subscription, and you can get it by clicking on the thing that looks like an orange dot with two waves coming off it which you can find in the address bar. If you prefer, you can also subscribe to my Atom Feed using the same icon. That will put a drop-down menu sort of thing on your browser, allowing you to see what's new easily no matter where you are on the Internet at the time.
Oh...the 300 thing. This is my 300th post. 300 over the last 150 or so days comes out to about two a day. That would be a good pace to maintain, but I seem to be best at doing this in spurts...well, that seems how it's working out, good or not.
Nothing behind the "Read more!" link on this one.

Congratulations on #300 Gregg!
I know it's tough to keep up on all the sources and still find time to blog about it while having to live a life as well.
You're doing a great job of it so far. Please keep it up.
