Taking Stock
The Green Party is an exasperating bunch. From angry barbs at people who don't deserve it to sleazy behind the curtain political garbage like the Greenfield "Dump Hillary, vote for me as a Democrat..no I mean Green..." crap, the sad truth is that we Greens are as difficult to handle as a sack full of possums.
Even so, and with all our warts there for the world to see, we are heads and shoulders above the average Republican or Democrat who serves in office. Of course, part of the reason might be who they serve.
To the point, some members of Congress are moving to stop the bombing of the Strake Divine. This spot, about 75 miles from Las Vegas, will host a 700 ton bomb made of fertilizer and diesel fuel, the same evil mixture Timothy McVeigh used to kill children and adults at the Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City.
The purpose of the bombing? To generate data which will be used to design the "next generation" of nuclear weapons, weapons we don't need and should not build period.
You can chip in and help. Visit Dee's Dotes and find links to more information. Visit the national Green Party Action Center to write your local media and ask for action.
We are the party of action, and as such, we should show the people effected that we are not only good neighbors for those in our town, but good neighbors to the planet.
