Supporters of Islamic Terrorists in the Green Party?
Lorna Salzman of New York, former candidate for the Green Party Presidential nomination, had a delegate from Virginia post a message to the National Committee email list. The message, without comment, is behind the "Read more!" link...

NEW YORK STATE GREEN PARTY LEADERS ARE SUPPORTING ISLAMIST CLERIC WHO CELEBRATED 9/11 TERRORISTS; FORMER GREEN CANDIDATE CHARGES PARTY WITH HARBORING TERRORIST SYMPATHIZERS
Some members of the NYS Green Party State Committee, led by Peter LaVenia, are driving down to NYC May 23rd for the trial of Iman Umar Abdul-Jalil, former executive director of ministerial services for the NYC Dept. of Correction, and imam of the Masjid Sabur mosque in Harlem, who was known for celebrating terrorism and preaching extreme Wahhabi Islamism within the prison system.
In Umar's unpublished memoirs he said the 9/11 hijackers should be honored as martyrs and in public conferences stated: "Even Muslims who say they are against terrorism secretly admire and applaud (the hijackers), saying the US oppresses Muslims everywhere, and that prison "is the perfect recruitment and training ground for radicalism and the Islamic religion".
Umar was born Wallace Gene marks and later known as Wallace 10X when in 1971 he and others in the Harlem Five were arrested for conspiracy and harboring illegal weapons. As a teenager in Illinois Umar spent two years behind bars.
In two conferences sponsored b the Muslim Students Association, he urged Americans to stop allowing "the Zionists of the media to dictate what Islam is to us" and urged Muslims to be "hard against the kufr" (unbeliever). H stated that the Koran doesnt condemn terrorism against oppressors of Muslims. Umar first denied and then later admitted these statements.
The NYS Green Party is part of the US Green Party faction that passed a resolution to boycott and divest from Israel and which continues to seek liaison with radical Muslim groups like Al Awda, one of whose organizers, Mohammed Abed of Wisconsin, prepared the boycott resolution. A candidate for the NYS GP US Senate nomination, Howie Hawkins of Syracuse, was one of two New Yorkers who supported this resolution. Some California Greens seeking public office are known to be actively recruiting potential Muslim supporters.
Salzman said:"It is tragic that the peace-oriented Green Party is allowing extremist pro-Islamist members and factions to dictate its foreign policy. These same factions are now echoing the anti-Semitic beliefs of Islamists in this country...unaware of the irony that Islamists are not only violently anti-left but were recruited by the US government against leftists and leftist thought in the middle east and eastern Europe".
Salzman believes that radical Islamists have influenced and infiltrated the US Green Party and that their naive support of Iman Umar, a confessed supporter of violence, anti semitism and extremist Muslim beliefs, arises from an intense hatred of America, threatening to severely damage the efforts of greens running for public office next November. She believes that an investigation of the NYS Green Party should be initiated and that Islamism be beaten back before the GP is placed on a list of terrorist sympathizers.
