While Pat LaMarche carries the banner for the Maine Green Independent Party, a former candidate for Governor, Jonathan Carter, is also in the news, for fighting to protect Maine's Moosehead Lake region. The Portland Press Herald says that Carter doesn't believe developers when they say they want to preserve the character of the remote area they want to develop.
